Philosophy of Monotheism and Best Lectures for Character Building: Greater Pilgrimage/Hajj and Lesser Pilgrimage/Umrah at Makkah (Saudi Arabia)

Greater Pilgrimage/Hajj and Lesser Pilgrimage/Umrah at Makkah (Saudi Arabia)

Almost every year Millions of Muslims from all over the World go to Saudi Arabia to perform:"Hajj" ( i.e., Greater Pilgrimage )in the holy month of "Zilhajj-al-Haraam". According to Hijri Islamic Callender 9th Day of Zilhajj-al-Haraam is ARAFA-DAY (Special Prayers are offered for forgiveness of all sins) and 10th Day is "EID-AL-ADHA" (on this day a Sheep or Cow or Camel is sacrificed by all Pilgrims/Hajjis in the Slaughter House). The main purposes of Hajj or Umrah are to gather all Muslims to Sacred Mosque/Khana-e-Ka'aba/Holy Places in Saudi Arabia from all over the world from different races/cultures/traditions (but all from one religion/Islam) so that they meet together and make friends to make a better world.

In the Holy Book "QUR'AN"-Surah 2:Al Baqarah, Lord Almighty said:"Perform the pilgrimage and the visit (to Makkah/Mecca as known in Western World)for Allah. And if you are prevented, then send such gifts as can be obtained with ease, and shave not your heads until the gifts have reached their destination. And whoever among you is sick or has an ailment of the head must pay a ransom of fasting or almsgiving or offering. And if you are in safety, then whoever contents himself/herself with the visit for the Pilgrimage (shall give) such gifts as can be had with ease. And whoever cannot find (such gifts), then a fast of three days while on the pilgrimage, and of seven when you have returned, that is, ten in all. That is for him whose folk are not present at the Sacred Mosque. Observe your duty to Allah, and know that Allah is severe in punishment.

The pilgrimage is (in) the well known months, and whoever is minded to perform the pilgrimage therein (let him/her remember that) there is (to be) no lewdness nor abuse nor angry conversation on the pilgrimage. And whatsoever good you do Allah knows it. So make provision for yourselves (hereafter); for the best provision is to ward off evil. Therefore keep your duty unto Me, O men of understanding.

It is no sin for you that you seek the bounty of your Lord (by trading). But, when you press on in the multitude from Arafat, remember Allah by the sacred monument. Remember Him as He has guided you, although before you were of those astray.

Then hasten onward from the place whence the multitude hastens onward, and ask forgiveness of Allah, Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

And when you have completed your devotions, then remember Allah as you remember your fathers ( it was the custom of the pagan Arabs to praise their forefathers at the conclusion of the Pilgrimage ) or with a more lively rememberance. But of mankind is he who says:"Our Lord! Give unto us in the world," and he has no portion in the Hereafter.

And of them (also) is he who says:"Our Lord! Give unto us in the world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and guard us from the doom of Fire."
